A'LIQUE TERRY

Offensive Line

Oregon football head coach Dan Lanning officially announced A'lique Terry as the Ducks' new offensive line coach on Feb. 14, 2023.

A former graduate assistant for the Ducks, Terry will return to Eugene after spending 2022 as the assistant defensive line coach for the Minnesota Vikings.

"We are thrilled to welcome A'lique back to the Oregon family," Lanning said. "A'lique is very familiar with our program and understands the values and goals that we have here in Eugene. He is passionate, with unique experiences that range from the college ranks all the way to the NFL as a coach. He also has experience as a player, competing at the Power 5 level on the offensive line.

"His relationships with our current and past student-athletes are unmatched, and his reputation as a teacher precedes him. We are really excited about what A'lique brings to our program and the positive impact he'll have on our student-athletes both on and off the field."

Terry spent 2019 and 2020 as a graduate assistant at Oregon working with the offensive line, and then went to Hawai'I in 2021 as the offensive line coach before joining the Vikings for the 2022 season. The Miami, Fla., native started his coaching career as a quality control coach at Wake Forest in 2018 following four seasons as an offensive lineman for the Demon Deacons.

"I am really excited to return to the University of Oregon," Terry said. "I want to thank Coach Lanning and the Oregon administration for this incredible opportunity to be a part of what they are building in Eugene. I've experienced first-hand how special Oregon is, and I couldn't be more fired up to get back and connect with our student-athletes. I am very appreciative and can't wait to get to work."

Terry helped the Vikings to a playoff appearance in 2022 while working with a defensive line that included Danielle Hunter, who tied for 12th in the NFL with 11.5 sacks.

As a graduate assistant with the Ducks in 2019, Terry worked with an Oregon offensive line that included a trio of all-Americans in Penei Sewell, Shane Lemieux and Calvin Throckmorton. Sewell was awarded the Outland Trophy as the top interior lineman in the country, and joined Marcus Mariota and LaMichael James as the only unanimous all-Americans in program history at the time.

Terry helped the Ducks to a 12-2 overall record, a Pac-12 Championship and a Rose Bowl victory in 2019, and the offensive line was one of four finalists for the Joe Moore Award as the nation's most outstanding offensive line unit. Oregon also dominated the Pac-12 Offensive Lineman of the Week award with eight winners in 12 weeks, including a league-high four honors for Sewell and two each for Lemieux and Throckmorton.

Lemieux and center Jake Hanson were selected in the 2020 NFL Draft, while Throckmorton and tackle Brady Aiello both signed free agent deals. Sewell opted out of the 2020 pandemic-shortened season before being taken seventh overall by the Detroit Lions in the 2021 NFL Draft.

Terry helped the Ducks to a second straight Pac-12 Championship in 2020 while assisting with an offensive line that allowed just 1.57 sacks per game despite having no returning starters from 2019.

A four-year letterman as an offensive lineman at Wake Forest (2014-17), Terry started seven games for the Demon Deacons as a true freshman in 2014. He helped Wake Forest to a pair of bowl game appearances, the 2016 Military Bowl and the 2017 Belk Bowl.

Terry earned his bachelor's degree in communications with a minor in entrepreneurship and business from Wake Forest in 2018.
